Fitty-pee challenge update

Damn, drat and bah humbug. The fitty-pee this week is over, and Emma has emerged victorious – her punk-design top sold for £2.60, whereas my crappy Oasis CD only just made back my initial outlay of 50p.

So, Emma has £2.60 to spend next week, and I am limited to my original 50p.

Must try harder!

East London is a Vampire

Since Monday evening I’ve been working in London for my employer – living out of a holdall and in a dingy hotel in East London. Because I had to come down here for emergency works, rather than a pre-planned visit, I drove down instead of taking the train. Because of this, I had very little choice in where I parked my head at the end of the day.

I ended up at the Custom House Hotel, a mile or so from where I was working. It’s a typical ‘cheap’ hotel – it’s about half a rung up the ladder above a Travelodge, and about 23 rungs from the International, on Marsh Wall, where I usually stay.

The Ebay Fitty-pee Challenge

Somewhat inspired by my mam, who buys tat at car boot sales and sells it for fun and profit on Ebay, myself and Emma have laid down a challenge! We went to a local car boot sale this morning, armed with 50 english pence, to procure something which we could re-sell on Ebay at a profit.

The idea is that we buy an item each, for 50p, and sell it on Ebay. Whatever profit we make on that item, we can use the following week to buy more 'stock' to sell on Ebay. The 'winner' is the person that's made the most moolah by my birthday, in July.

The ‘Difficult’ Second Album

Yes, I know, another music-themed post. Sorry. I’ll keep it brief.

There’s a slew of some of my favourite bands releasing what the musical press would term their ‘difficult second album(s)’ around now.

Welsh Beer Festival at the Hillsborough Hotel

Went to the Welsh Beer ‘Festival’ at the Hiho last night, along with Andy, Craig, Ian, Suddy and Vee.

I returned a little frazzled, but slightly disappointed, as I didn’t discover any new ales of any quality. I do, however, feel compelled to write about Warcop Ales ‘Honeyed Stout’ (4.5%).
