Light Lunch

Woke up around 7.30, depressingly early for a Saturday. There's been around an inch of snow fallen during the night - the garden looks pretty with this light dusting - pity it didn't stay around long enough to photograph it. I nipped over to the barbers at about 10am and by the time I'd returned, virtually all the snow had gone.

We'd arranged with Vee and Chris for a spot of lunch in town. We settled on Pizza Express on Devonshire Street. As usual, with Aimee in tow, we were a little late. Decided to not have a pizza - and had a Caesar salad instead. It was excellent - Emma believes the pizzas are better from this branch, rather than the one in Meadowhall. It's certainly quieter than the Meadowall branch, but puzzlingly, the service is much, much slower. Any 'good work' achieved by having the salad was ruined totally with the chocolate and ice cream sundae for pudding. Oh well!

Aimee was surprisingly well behaved at the table - sometimes she can be a right little terror, but I think she's worked out some (very) basic table etiquette, and doesn't try and make a grab for knives and forks and drinks as much anymore. She especially liked the 'Bambinoccino' - a child's coffee-less cappuccino served in an espresso cup, and was quite, quite disappointed when the time came to hand the empty cup and spoon back to the waitress!

It's nice to see Victoria and Chris - not seen them since before Christmas. We retire back home with full bellies and it's not long before it's Aimee's bedtime. A quiet evening in front of the telly, and off to bed - hopefully Aimee will permit a teeny-weeny lie-in in the morning...maybe!
